Built from a real northern need.
In Northern Lapland, distance is part of daily life. Work shifts, groceries, visiting friends and airport connections do not always fit public transport.
A customer staying for months needs something different from a tourist renting for a few days: practical mobility that can remain part of everyday life throughout the season. That is the need Kaltio was built around.

More life from existing cars
Sustainability for us is not about pretending an older car is something it is not. It is about making good use of vehicles that already exist. We buy practical used cars, maintain them and keep them moving for longer instead of replacing usable vehicles with new ones.
The name
Where movement begins.
Kaltio is a northern dialect word for a natural spring, a place where clean water begins to flow. The name was inspired by springs in the northern fells.
That idea of a beginning, of something starting to move, gave us our name and our slogan.

An easier everyday life. More of your season.
We rent cars. What that makes possible is getting to work, seeing people and using your days off without arranging every journey around someone else. The same car that gets you through the week can take you further when you have time.
